A History of Greatness
3# began while Ammon, Matt and Trevor were studying music at Brigham Young University. They bonded over their love of jazz and improvisation and played in many ensembles together. After graduating they went their separate ways. Eventually, they reunited to form 3# and bring their love of jazz to everyone around them. 3# was formed in 2015, and has continued to be a source of friendship and music for them.

Ammon Doman
A pianist with a passion for jazz harmony and improvisation. Ammon brings a wealth of knowledge with degrees from both Brigham Young University and the University of Northern Colorado in Jazz Piano Performance. Ammon not only has the skills and knowledge, but also brings joy and passion to his playing. He elevates any performance to another level.
Matt Tippetts
A percussionist and educator with degrees from Brigham Young University and Michigan State University, Matt loves playing and teaching percussion. His groove is undeniably tight, and his knowledge and mastery of style and genre is second to none. Matt brings something special to each and every performance and enhances any piece he plays.
Trevor Watson
Bassist, educator and military musician, Trevor rounds out the ensemble by holding down the groove and introducing unique sonic flavors to compliment each solo. With a degree from Brigham Young University and a career as a military musician spanning more than a decade, Trevor has the skills to fit into any style as both an ensemble member and soloist.

Cost depends a lot on a few factors like: amount of time you want the band playing, travel distance, and special request songs if any. Send us a message and we'd love to coordinate with you to get a specific price for your specific events needs.
We primarily play jazz standards from the Great American Songbook as well as some other jazz tunes that we enjoy. We also have some original compositions and more modern songs that we throw in as the occasion demands.
We provide all the instruments, obviously, but we can also provide a PA and microphones as needed for announcements and MC needs. Drop us a message for more details about equipment needs for your event.
